In 2018, this sold-out rock and roll gathering was a major success and it looks like it’s going to be the same this year. The tickets range from R225 to R275 per person and the line-up includes acts like Jack Parow, Majozi, Fokofpolisiekar, Early B, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Arno Carstens, Laudo Liebenberg, Coenie de Villiers, and Van Coke Kartel.

2 Kirstenbosch Plant Fair (May 4-5)
Kirstenbosch Plant Fair is definitely one of the most anticipated events in Cape Town this weekend. Here, you will find a wide range of indigenous plants selected from local growers. A couple of plant gurus will be giving out gardening advice, while many garden related products will be available to purchase. Besides admiring thousands of plants, visitors can enjoy delicious food and beverages.

3 Gin High Tea (May 4)
V & A Waterfront’s GINJA restaurant is hosting the amazing Gin High Tea event this Saturday. Expect to find a wide selection of Khoisan teas, as well as filter coffee and delicious sweet and savory treats. You can even create your own gin-based cocktail here by experimenting with a variety of flavors, herbs, and garnishes. The ticket per adult costs R185.

4 Riebeek Valley Olive Festival (May 4-5)
Celebrating the successful olive harvest, the annual Riebeek Valley Olive Festival is showcasing some of their finest produce including everything from olives, wine, and craft beers to organic soaps and festival souvenirs to bring back home. There will be live music, as well as tractor rides and entertainment for the little ones. For R80, you are granted access to the festival and a complimentary glass of wine.

5 Hop and Vine Festival (May 4)
The bi-annual Hop and Vine Festival is one of our favorite events in Cape Town this weekend. Visit Simon’s Restaurant and enjoy craft beer and great wine from local producers. To keep you entertained, the popular Bootleggers Blues Band is scheduled to perform at 5 pm. The entrance to the festival will set you back R95.
