Flights typically last between 10 and 30 minutes, and like any other sport that relies on the weather, they are dependent on clear days and ideal wind direction.
Most flights are done from Signal Hill or Lion’s Head in order to get a good height, after which you cruise down over Camps Bay to land at the high school field, or Sea Point to land near the promenade. Landing area depends on the wind conditions on the day of the flight.
