Earlier this year we mentioned that word had gotten about about a Cape Town zombie movie in the makings. On Halloween, we blogged about the Zombie Walk. Needless to say, we love us some zombie action. The movie we mentioned in May, which is Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, is in full swing, and by the pics shared by crew and cast members, it looks pretty cool. Well, if you’re into action-packed movies featuring deadly viruses that turn everyone into flesh eating zombies, that is!
Actress Milla Jovovich has been living and filming in Cape Town the past few months working on what looks to be the final Resident Evil movie. On her Facebook page, she talked about how excited she was to be flying out to Cape Town to start filming. On her Twitter stream, she has raved about the ‘incredible’ hiking and ‘enchanted’ views. Over the last couple of months, scenes have been shot all over the city, and in Johannesburg as well.
Milla Jovovich Shares Pics From Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Filmed in Cape Town
Recently, Milla shared some pics from current scenes that were being shot… and they were not quite what fans had in mind from this model slash actress. In the pics, Milla appears drastically aged in her role, as she is transformed into an older (and presumably wiser) zombie-destroying Alice. After posting the pics to her Instagram account, she reassured fans that the shots were not spoilers, saying, “For all those who think this look is for the end of the movie, it’s not!”
Also in the movie are Ali Larter, who reprises her role of Claire Redfield; Iain Glen as Dr. Isaacs and Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker. New faces include Ruby Rose as Abigail; Eoin Macken as Doc; William Levy as Christian; Fraser James as Michael and Japanese star Rola as Cobalt.
As for what we can expect from Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the producers’ official summary is as follows:
Picking up immediately after the events in ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.
…
Sounds pretty much on par with the rest of the Resident Evil franchise, and I’m sure it will be packed full of guts, gore and undead craziness. Have you seen any of the movie cast in Cape Town so far? Let us know below!
