There are many cool events happening this weekend in South Africa’s Mother City. From a wine show and a lifestyle market to an annual festival celebrating French heritage, there is something for everyone. 1 Tops at Spar Wine Show 2019 (July 11-13)

It seems there is no shortage of exciting things to do in Cape Town this July, especially when it comes to drinking wine. Visit the Tops at Spar Wine Show which is taking place at the GrandWest Casino over three days and allows guests to sample and purchase some of the best South African wines. Wine lovers can also learn about wine-pairings and wine varietals at the festival. In case you get hungry, delicious gourmet food will be offered to visitors. Tickets for the wine show range between R185 and R495.

2 26th Annual Franschhoek Bastille Festival (July 13-14)

Franschhoek Bastille Festival is definitely one of the most anticipated events in the Franschhoek Wine Valley this winter. Celebrate the centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at this fabulous weekend-long event and feast on food and wine from the Franschhoek award-winning wineries. Travelers visiting with kids will be happy to hear there is entertainment for the little ones to enjoy. Adults can also expect plenty of entertainment activities including the popular Porcupine Ridge Barrel Rolling competition. The festival also has live music and dozens of craft stalls.

3 Best of Both with Francois Botha & Yohan Chun (July 13)

La Motte Wine Estate is hosting a series of music concerts and the first one is Best of Both with Francois Botha & Yohan Chun. The performance is happening during the Franschhoek Bastille Weekend and visitors will have an opportunity to see this magnificent piano duo perform. Of course, visitors are invited to enjoy a glass of wine after the show. The ticket for the concert costs R230 per person and includes entrance to the show and a glass of wine after the performance.

4 Sirocco Lifestyle Market in Kalk Bay (July 13)

A visit to the Sirocco Lifestyle Market in Kalk Bay is one of the most exciting things to do in Cape Town this weekend.  Presented by Thrift Fest and Sirocco restaurant, this small market is all about tasty food, cocktails, wine specials, and groovy music. Entrance to the event is free of charge.

5 Fashion Clubber Present Room Service (July 13)

The Fashion Clubbers team is visiting South Africa’s Mother City this Saturday. This music event is aimed for visitors who are into fashion and design. The event is taking place at the Radisson Red at the V&A Waterfront and guests can take advantage of the bottle service and swing their hips on the dance floor. Guests who wish to spend the night here will be glad to hear there is availability for room hire. Tickets for the event cost between R250 and R320.
