As one of the oldest towns in the Cape Province, Franshhoek literally means ‘French Corner’ in Afrikaans, and with its rich Huguenot heritage, this name is perfectly apt. The town is surrounded by picturesque mountains, with vineyards, quaint homesteads, pretty gardens and a bustling town centre that further adds to its charm.

What better way to visit the many good estates in town than the one-of-a-kind Wine Tram?
