2 Shakespeare in Love @ Fugard Theatre (August 14 – October 6)

Are you interested in watching a great theater play in Cape Town? Due to popular demand, Shakespeare in Love returns to Fugard Theatre in Cape Town this August. Adapted from the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard and written by Lee Hall, Shakespeare in Love is directed by Greg Karvellas who is the resident director at the Fugard Theatre. This amazing comedy tells the story of young Will Shakespeare who just can’t find inspiration for his new play. Luckily, he runs into his new muse Viola who is also one of his biggest fans and will do anything to appear in his new play. Inspired by Viola, Will Shakespeare manages to write an incredible play.

3 VeRTiGO @ Cafe Roux Cape Town (August 15)

VeRTiGO at Cafe Roux is definitely one of the most anticipated live music events in Cape Town this August. This celebrated South African duo consists of Carina Bruwer who is an amazing slide flute player and guitar legend, Mauritz Lotz. Both of these award-winning artists have impressive technical skills when performing and it’s a real pleasure watching their concerts. Their set at Café Roux in Cape Town will include classic fusion mix-ups, as well as many popular pop-rock songs like Feeling Good by Nina Simone, Fragile by Sting, and Europa by Santana.

4 Cape Town Golf Festival (August 19-25)

Cape Town’s second Golf Festival will be held on four courses including Westlake, Royal Cape, Milnerton, and Metropolitan. Directed by German director Claudia Blersch, this Italian comedy opera show tells us the story of two young lovers Ernesto and Norina who are determined to teach an elderly bachelor a lesson. You will have an opportunity to listen to the fabulous singers from the CTO Young Artist Programme and watch brilliant performances by Nkululeko Masuku as Ernesto, including Brittany Smith as Norina, Bongani Kubheka appearing as Don Pasquale, and Luvuyo Mbundu as Malatesta. 6 Vodkafest Cape Town (August 25)

Drive out to the heart of Durbanville Wine Valley to attend the amazing Vodkafest Cape Town on 25th of August. Mike Crawford and Denise Barnes who are the organizers of this event say how the festival will be filled with plenty of entertainment, good music, and of course vodka. There will be several vodka tasting stations and visitors will have a chance to sample dozens of local craft brands, as well as well-known International brands of vodka. If you prefer vodka-based cocktails, the 12-meter long ice bar is be the place to go.
