Located high up on Merriman Road, a peaceful cul de sac, below the Signal Hill Nature Reserve where you can delight in indigenous Bluegum trees, aloes and guinea fowl. A two minute drive can lead you to explore South Africa’s historic Mother City. The city offers various attractions such as markets, shops, restaurants, museums, the Planetarium, the Castle and the renowned Company Gardens.
At Bluegum Hill Guest House you can enjoy a panoramic view of the suburbs below, over the rapidly growing new 2010 Stadium to Table Bay, with its busy harbour and the world-renowned V&A Waterfront. Towards your left you will see the coastal suburb of Mouille Point, with its Lighthouse and seaside promenade. On clear days you can see waves breaking on the shoreline of Robben Island, the historic prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated. Across the bay one sees Bloubergstrand, with the Tygerberg Hills in the background.
From our balcony, you can enjoy planning your route to the sights below. The Waterfront is a mere 5 minute drive away, and you are just 12 minutes from Cape Towns’ famous beaches, Clifton and Camps Bay, as well as a brief 12 minute drive away from Table Mountain.
Bluegum Hill, a double story, with stairs leading down to the house, has magnificent panoramic views. Enjoy the views from the dining area, top and bottom lounges, balcony, and pool deck.

Accommodation consists of 6 en-suite bedrooms, 1 single and 5 doubles, which can sleep ten guests in total.
Rooms are provided with all essential amenities, such as aircon, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryers, wall safes, heaters, extra cotton blankets, and radio-alarm clocks.
If you enjoy being outdoors, relax with a book on the balcony, unwind on the sun deck, or cool off in the sparkling saltwater pool with wonderful ambience provided by a sub-tropical garden. Relish the moving scenery below, ships, yachts and the constantly-changing sky and seas – all whilst enjoying a sundowner from our well-stocked bar!
Greet mornings with our special full English breakfast, with daily variations such as fried courgettes, mushrooms, bananas, onion, potatoes, and French toast. On warmer days, delight your taste buds with a Continental breakfast, complete with pure fruit juice, creamy yoghurts and wholesome cereals. When the weather is fine, you may want breakfast served alfresco out on our balcony as the world awakens beneath you! Enjoy limitless cups of Filter coffee or try our selection of teas.
Throughout the day we offer complimentary, tea, coffee, fruit, biscuits and sweets and enjoy a glass of sherry in the evenings.
We are always at hand to offer you a wealth of tourist information and will be happy to personally assist you plan tours and day trips, advise you about car hire, restaurant and entertainment reservations and schedule onward travel arrangements as well as offering valuable tips on what’s best in the Cape! Airport transfers are also arranged for you at reasonable rates.
