The brainchild of Kurt Schoonraad, a much-loved local comic, Jou Ma Se Comedy Club celebrates the rise of South African comedy, with a line-up of acts that run from Wednesday to Sunday.
The Club began as something of an impromptu affair when Kurt took his particular blend of Cape Flats humour to the Cape Town Festival 2005 that was held at Manenberg’s Jazz Cafe in the Waterfront. Between 2007 and 2010, the Club was based in the Albert Town Hall in Woodstock, where it became a regular show that started drawing a big crowd.
Today, Jou Ma Se Comedy can be enjoyed most of the week around at The Pumphouse in the Waterfront – a beautiful old historical building that offers music, comedy, food and drink in one stylish venue. If you enjoy a good laugh and a good night out, you are sure to find a night at this unique comedy club truly something to remember.

Starting times vary depending on the evening’s line-up, but for the most part doors open from 18h00, with shows starting at around 20h30.
