1 PS.I Love You Dinner and Movie Screening at the Pepper Club Hotel & Spa (August 10-11)
Pepper Club Hotel & Spa’s weekend dinner and movie evenings have become quite popular this winter. This weekend visitors will have an opportunity to watch the romantic PS.I Love You movie at the Pepper Club Hotel & Spa’s retro cinema and also enjoy a full meal at their on-site restaurant. Some of the options for dinner include the signature Pepper club beef burger with French fries and all the trimmings, grilled beef rump with onion rings, potatoes, roasted tomatoes, avocado, and red wine, or mushroom penne pasta in truffle-infused cream sauce and with assorted mushrooms. 2 The Minnesota Orchestra @ Cape Town City Hall (August 10)
The Minnesota Orchestra performance at the Cape Town City Hall is definitely the biggest and the most popular event this weekend. The good news is that the rehearsal of the Minnesota Orchestra which starts at 2 pm will also be open to the public, as well as the final performance that is scheduled on the same day for 8 pm. This is the first professional American orchestra to tour in the country and the event is part of the annual Nelson Mandela Centenary celebrations.
3 Newton & Co: Live Performance at Cafe Roux (August 11)
There are many interesting events this weekend in Cape Town and the performance by Newton & Co: is one of them. This awesome group started out as a cover band, so visitors will have a chance to sing along to numerous classics. The band will also be performing a set of new modern tunes including Reggae, Funk, Irish folk, and Funk songs.
4 Celebratory Wild Weekender By Wild Thing Studios (August 11-12)
Head out to the Point Centre’s third floor where the contemporary yoga studio Wild Thing will be celebrating its second birthday this weekend. Whether you are just experienced with yoga or just an enthusiast, you are welcome to attend their complimentary yoga practices. Classes will be free of charge over the weekend, but donations that are supporting the Earth Child Project are more than welcome. 5 Hop on a Vintage Steam Train to Simon’s Town (August 12)
Searching for a fun event this weekend in Cape Town? Hop on a vintage steam train to Simon’s Town this Sunday that will take you to places like Muizenberg, False Bay, the small village of St James and Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, and finally to Simon’s Town where you will have an opportunity to see the famous naval dockyard.
