1 Elgin Winter Wine Festival (August 9-11)
Winter, Wine, and Words is the very first Elgin Winter Festival which is taking places at the Elgin Railway Market this weekend. From mouthwatering comfort foods and tasty local wines to literary talks and mountain bike rides, there is no shortage of fun things to do at this amazing festival. Many wine masterclasses will be available at various wine estates, while one of the highlights of the event is the live music performance by the folk-rock duo Bottomless Coffee on Saturday evening.

2 Cape Town Yarn Festival 2019 (August 9)
Taking place at Kommetjie Primary School on Women’s Day, Cape Town Yarn Festival is one of the best family-friendly events happening in Cape Town this weekend. Expect everything from fiber producers, demonstrations, and workshops to tasty food and lucky draws. The tickets for the festival will set you back R50 per person.

3 On Tap at the Tip Beer Festival (August 10)
On Tap at the Tip Beer Festival invites visitors for a day of fun, cold beer, and live music. The event is hosted by Black Oystercatcher, a lovely family-run wine farm which is home of the Fraser’s Folly Craft Brewery. Besides sampling beers from various craft breweries, visitors can also enjoy delicious snacks and meals. For entertainment, there will be live music from Warongx and DJ Paul Fletcher. Tickets for the festival cost R150 per person.

4 Slow Food & Wine Festival @ Robertson Wine Valley (August 9-11)

5 Party Cruise on Mirage (August 9)
Luxury yacht Mirage is hosting a cool tribute performance of the classic Mamma Mia this Friday as a part of a 3-hour long party cruise. The luxury yacht is scheduled to set off from the V&A Waterfront at 4 pm and takes visitors to Clifton Beach and back. Besides enjoying the performance with spectacular costumes and choreography, you can also indulge in a unique gin & tonic tasting and have some light snacks which are available on the yacht. There is a dress code and its glitter, glam, and dungarees. A family ticket for 4 guests costs R1800, while a single ticket will set you back R590.
