31 March – 1 April 2017: Cape Town International Jazz Festival

Kicking off from 18h45 on Friday 31 March, the Cape Town Jazz Festival is a much-anticipated event that attracts thousands of music lovers from all over the world. This year, the line-up features an equal balance of local and international acts. Look out for headline acts such as En Vogue, along with a number of first-rate performances from Judith Sephuma, Thandiswa Mazwai, Mango Groove, Ernie Smith, Tresor,  The Rudimentals and Escalandrum. 6 – 8 April 2017: Whisky Live Celebration

Taking place at The Lookout, which is situated at the V&A Waterfront, the Whisky Live Celebration gives you a taste of what to expect from this year’s Whisky Live Festival that will take place later in the year. The event will start at 18h00 and continue until 22h00. Whisky fans will be able to savour a wide variety of local and international blends. Tickets cost R200 for general access pass, which includes entry to the event tasting area, plus a free tasting glass, 440ml bottle of Consol Still water and 15 vouchers for tasting.

16 April 2017: Easter in Cape Town

Easter this year takes place on Sunday 16 April 2017. There are many ‘eggciting’ events taking place across the city. The Monday following (17 April 2017) is also a holiday (Family Day), which means plenty of time to relax over the long weekend.

27 – 30 April 2017: Decorex Cape Town

Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the theme for South Africa’s largest interior design exhibition this year is ‘Make Your Space Your Living Dream’. Home-makers, interior designers, architects and shoppers will have the chance to explore a huge range of products, exhibitions and concepts. Along with a selection of over 200 exhibitors, there will also be talks and demos on various décor and DIY, plus an artisan Craft-and-Create Market featuring homemade goods. Tickets cost R95 for adults, R85 for students and pensioners and R20 for children.

28 – 30 April 207: South African Cheese Festival

Head out to the gorgeous Cape Winelands, where you can savour a world of delicious cheeses in a laid-back outdoor setting. This festival is family friendly, with the Carnival Park offering plenty of entertainment for all ages. Tickets cost R160 for adults and R100 for pensioners, while kidss under 13 enter for free. Tickets are available to purchase via Computicket outlets. Please note that tickets will not be available at the door however.
