AfriCamps at Mackers
Africamps at Mackers is located in the beautiful Sabie Valley Nature Conservancy between Sabie and Hazyview. Ryan and Michelle Mc Kain – the “Mackers”, hail from the East Rand in Gauteng, where they both ran successful businesses. Ryan, a real sports fanatic, ran a screenprinting business and Michelle has a Corporate Promotional business. The farm was discovered whilst on a holiday to the Panoramic route and Kruger National Park. The couple have a passion for wildlife and are avid birders which makes this farm ideal as it has more than 250 species for them to watch.
The farm is only a 25 minutes drive from the Phabeni Gate of the Kruger so whenever time allows, they like to pop into the Kruger for a drive. Tired of the ‘mad Joburg Rush’ they decided to invest into their piece of heaven 5 years ago and have been enjoying their decision ever since.
The farm offers absolute peace and tranquillity and both host and hostess enjoy the fact that they are able to share the beauty of their farm with visitors from all over the world. Ryan and Michelle have 3 sons who are not resident on the farm, but take every opportunity to come back for a visit. First on the list is nature and beauty, but they also enjoy a game of golf at the Sabi River Sun Golf Club.
“The move to the farm 5 years ago was the best thing we ever did – life is about slowing down and enjoying the beauty of nature around you, it grounds you – we are blessed abundantly”
