1 Fab Ideas Christmas Gift Fair (December 14-17)

Head out to the charming seaside village of Kommetjie where the annual Fab Ideas Christmas Gift Fair is taking place this weekend. This Christmas fair offers around 120 exhibitors selling everything from skin care and décor to clothing and jewelry. Foodies will be glad to hear that dozens of popular street vendors such as Big Bites and Tickle Tiny are offering their delicious dishes. Expect also to find plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, as the famous WOW Yummy Juice and Luscious Slushes are also here. To keep the children entertained, soccer darts and rockets, games, and various craft demonstrations are available on-site. The entrance to the fair is free for all visitors.

2 Gipsy Kings in Cape Town (December 14-15)

The famous Gipsy Kinds are scheduled to play two exclusive shows this December in Cape Town. This Grammy-Award winning band are here to entertain you with their salsa and rumba rhythms and the Grand Africa Cafe & Beach is hosting an excellent Dinner and Dance event that includes a 5-course dining experience, followed by an intimate live performance of the band. A ticket to this event that includes dinner, entertainment, and welcome drinks will set you back R2295 per person.

3 Kenilworth Racecourse Christmas Market (December 15)

Rush and Kenwilworth Racecourse are hosting a Christmas market this Saturday in the Mother City. This fabulous market offers an entertainment area for the kids, as well as plenty of opportunity for Christmas shopping. The main features of the day are the Cape Guineas horse races and the World Sports Betting Grade 1 Fillies. Expect to find dozens of food stalls and many roughly around R100 000 worth of prizes.

4 Darling Summer Beer Festival (December 15)

This Christmas Season in Cape Town is full of extraordinary events and the Darling Summer Beer Festival is definitely one of them. Local breweries such as Darling Brew, Riot Beer, D’Cider, Yzer Bru, Black Eagle Brewery, Drifter Brewing Company and Signal Gun are bringing their finest ales and lagers, while the Cloof Wine Estate offers a variety of wines. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available and there is a live band playing in the afternoon.

5 RCS Gugs Race 2018 (December 16)

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Cape Town’s Gugulethu (the oldest township), the RCS Gugs Race is here to bring together all cultural groups this Sunday. You can enroll in a 4.2 km race or participate in the 10 km race. The race is one of the most anticipated sporting events this Christmas season in Cape Town and there is a chance to win spot prizes.
