Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Green Point will be hosting the annual Cape Town Festival of Beer this weekend. From a variety of lagers and blondes to an extensive list of ales and ciders, beer lovers will have plenty to choose from. Expect to find more than 60 distributors and microbreweries like Urban Brewing, Saggy Stone and Drifter showcasing their best products. Complimenting cold beers, dozens of food trucks and pop-up eateries such as Love Pizza and Kitchen Cowboys will be serving delicious foods. Visitors who are planning to bring their kids along will be pleased to hear that a jumping castle, a choo-choo train, and a ball pool will be located at the children’s area. To keep you entertained, the organizers have prepared live music performances ranging from jazz bands to local DJ’s.

2 Made In The Cape Market (November 30-December 16)

Like every year, the Made in the Cape Market is holding their annual Christmas market from November 30 to December 16. Taking place on all floors inside the Cavendish Square, the market offers a wide range of stalls selling everything from handmade gifts, jewelry, and home décor to fabulous Christmas decorations and festive treats. The great thing about this market is that new exhibitors join every couple of days, which means there are always new products on offer. 3 Noordhoek Village Sixes (December 1)

If you are looking for charity events in the Mother City this weekend, the Noordhoek Village Sixes is one of them. This annual all-day festival boasts food stalls, an entertainment area, games, and prizes donated by the Pride of Table Mountain. All of the proceeds will be donated to local charities including Noordhoek Sports club and the MASI 750 Club who are the hosts of the event. As for the prices, they include weekend getaways to the finest destinations in South Africa such as the Elgin River Lodge and the Last Word Intimate Hotels.

4 Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival: The Magic of Bubbles (December 1-2)

Presented by Sanlam Private Wealth, the Magic of Bubbles is an annual Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival that offers visitors a unique opportunity to try some of South Africa’s finest MCC’s. The dress code for this year is black and white and there is a prize for the best-dressed couple on each day. Besides a variety of MCC’s and champagnes, there will be plenty of tasty food provided by local restaurants. One ticket (R395) includes entrance to the event, a tasting glass, a card with 10 tasting vouchers.

5 City of Cape Town Festive Lights Switch-On

The annual Festive Lights Switch-On is one of the most anticipated events in the Mother City. This celebration of the beginning of the holiday is free and attracts thousands of both locals and tourists who come here for the festive atmosphere, entertainment, and live music. This year, an exciting line-up has been added to the bill including acts such as Dr. Victor & The Rasta Rebels, Sarah Theron, Yanga, Kunjalo, The Unknown Dance Crew, Robin Pieters featuring Elwira Standili, Emo Adams, YoungstaCPT, Shekhinah and Kwesta.
