1 Coffee & Craft Market (September 16)
Hosted by Dirtopia Café, Coffee and Crafts Market will take place at the Delvera Farm in Stellenbosch on the 16th of September. Besides exploring numerous coffee and craft stalls here, you can also make a picnic on the lawns of this magnificent estate. There will be plenty of kid-friendly activities including a jumping castle and a variety of outdoor games for the little ones. Coffee & Craft Market is also hosting the 5km & 10km Fun Trail Run along the lovely Delvera trails. The entrance to the market is free of charge, while the Fun Trail Run costs R80 per person.

2 Raats Family Wines (September 6)
One and Only and Reuben’s have joined forces this September to host the Bruwer Raats of Raats Family Wines one night only wine-paired dinner event. The dinner includes four courses which are paired with five wines from the Raats estate, as well as a complimentary 2018 Platter’s guide. Visitors will have a chance to hear how the award-winning winemaker Bruwer Raats managed to create some of the best wines in South Africa.

3 Tops at Spar Bierfest (September 28-29)
Celebrating its eighth birthday, the annual Tops at Spar Bierfest is one of the most anticipated events in Cape Town this September. It is the largest festival of Bavarian beer in South Africa and attracts large crowds of both tourists and locals. Expect to see everything from dirndls and lederhosen to frauleins and pigtails. Visitors can participate in dozens of Oktoberfest-inspired fun games and on-site competitions. A ticket to this amazing beer festival will set you back R175.

4 Keren Lindley Live at Café Roux (September 14)
If you wish to catch a live music show while staying in Cape Town this September, head out to Café Roux on 14th of September to listen to the fabulous singer-songwriter from Cape Town, the one and only Keren Lindley. Lindley’s performances are truly unforgettable and her passion for story telling combined with a rocking folk sound is just amazing. Expect to hear some brand new material, as well as many covers of classic songs. The entrance to the show costs R100 per person.

5 Franschhoek Uncorked Festival (September 15-16)
Wine lovers are definitely going to be excited about this particular event. The Franschhoek Uncorked Festival is all about exploring one of the most famous wine destinations in South Africa and having an incredible story to tell once you are back home. During the two-day festival, visitors will travel from one estate to the next and sample many wines on offer including white wines, MCC’s, roses, and red varietals. 6 The Sanlam Cape Marathon (September 22 – 23)
Attended by internationals and locals, the Sanlam Cape Marathon is one of the most popular marathons in South Africa and the only race on the African Continent that has an IAAF Gold Label-status. You can choose to participate in one of the four marathons: Peace Trail Runs (12 and 22km), Peace Run (10 km), and Peace Fun Run/Walk (5 km). What’s great about this event is that it attracts some of the world’s elite athletes, as well as casual walkers.

7 Jimmy Carr @ Grand Arena (September 29)
As part of his world tour, the award-winning English-Irish comedian Jimmy Carr is scheduled to perform on the 29th of September at the Grand Arena, Grand West Casino & Entertainment World in Cape Town. For those who don’t know, Jimmy Carr is the host of the popular British comedy show 8 out of 10 Cats and The Big Fat Quiz of the year. He performs stand-up tours and talks on a number of BBC radio shows. Jimmy also released a Netflix special called the Funny Business last year. This is definitely one of the biggest events in Cape Town this September, so make sure you get your ticket on time.
