The winter season is definitely a good time to be in Cape Town. 1 The Producers at Masque Theatre (July 4 – July 21)

If you are into musical comedies, head out to the Masque Theatre in Muizenberg this July and catch the popular “Producers” production show. This musical ran over 2,500 performances and won 3 Oliver and 12 Tony awards since its premiere in 2001. The plot is quite interesting and tells the story of Max Bialystock who is a fading Broadway producer trying to make his way back on the scene. 2 Cape Town Jive Funny Festival (July 9 – August 5)

There are many interesting events in Cape Town this weekend and this is probably the best one. Cape Town Jive Funny Festival is one of the leading comedy festivals in South Africa and presents both international acts and local SA comedians. The festival is taking place at the popular Baxter Theatre and the official line-up includes International acts like Mookie Cornish, Gerry Connolly, Raymond Raymondson, as well as local performers such as Alan Committie, Khanyisa Bunu, Tats Nkonzo, and many others.

3 Fair Bridge Mall Annual Road Race (July 14)

One of the most anticipated events in Cape Town this weekend is the Fair Bridge Mall Annual Road Race. In case you wish to participate, there are two races to choose from: a 15 km race and a 6km run fun race. The first 1800 finishers of the 15km Road race and the first 400 finishers of the fun run race will receive medals for their effort. The event is suited for all ages and there are plenty of available parking spots nearby. The fee for the races ranges between R30 and R115 and tickets can be purchased at https://www.webtickets.co.za/event.aspx?itemid=1481141859.

4 Dan Valley & the Countrymen at the Striped Horse (July 15)

This Sunday, the famous Dan Valley & the Countrymen band will be performing their set of bluesy, country, and folksy songs down at the Striped Horse in Muizenberg. The good news is that the Striped Horse has their World Cup Special that includes a 500ml beer for just R30.  Make sure to arrive early, as the music performance is scheduled to start at 3pm.
