The day starts with a 7 AM pickup from your CBD accommodation. Then, make your way up the West Coast on a short 45-minute drive to arrive at Buffelsfontein Game & Nature Reserve. Upon arrival, savor a light farm-style breakfast with fresh juice and coffee or tea while you take in the surroundings of this private game reserve.
Next, head out on a 3-hour game drive, taking a break halfway through for complimentary refreshments. Buffelsfontein offers one of the largest selections of wildlife within an hour of Cape Town. This 1,600 hectare, family-owned private reserve is home to 4 of the big 5 (lion, buffalo, rhino, and leopard), as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, kudu, eland, oryx, blue wildebeest, mountain reedbuck, red hartebeest, and much more to keep you busy with photographs and sightings.
After your game drive, we take take a short drive to the Khoi San village of !Kwha ttu, the only cultural center in the world dedicated to the past, present, and future of the Khoi San people. Feel the “shared spirit” tradition of the San, experience their story, learn the “click” language, and immerse yourself in the origins of Africa’s lost people.
Once you have enjoy lunch we depart for the historic town of Darling, a gem situated a mere 20 minutes away. Once there, relish a craft beer tasting of 5 beers at Darling Brew. Take a short 5-minute drive to explore Evita se Perron, the apartheid museum, and the many interesting corners of this old railway station, now an iconic West Coast village. Follow this with a wine tasting at the award-winning Ormonde private cellar before sampling artisanal local cheese and olive oil.
After this heart-warming stop, head to Blouberg beach and 19th-century streamlined The Blue Peter Hotel where you can walk along the scenic beach with Table Mountain across the bay, have an ice cream, or simply enjoy a cocktail and the scenery before making your way back to the shadows of Table Mountain and Cape Town city center.
