The first ever Cape Town Street Food Festival will be taking place on 27 July 2014, and we are pretty excited to see what this event has to offer local and visiting street food fans…
Street food is certainly not a new phenomenon, but the concept of food-on-the-go has never taken off quite as well as it has over the last few years. In Cape Town, a walk down Long Street or any other busy city street reveals a number of pop-up eateries that are always busy – whatever the time of day. From hotdogs to spicy falafel, street food is fast, cheap and convenient. Perfect for those late-night hunger pangs, or a rushed lunchtime snack – even a lazy afternoon tummy fill on a leisurely stroll through the company gardens.

This event will include a market showcasing a variety of yummy street foods from Cape Town’s favourite eateries, with free entry to browse, eat and connect with local foodies. There will also be talks aimed at empowering those who want to launch their own food stalls, with a panel of speakers from the food industry. These talks are sure to provide inspiration for entrepreneurs and anyone else who is interested in learning more about the street food trend.
