The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra is performing this November at the Cape Town City Hall. The concert is conducted by Conrad van Alphen, while guest soloist Dmitry Shishkin is playing the piano. Conrad van Alphen has worked with some of the world’s best orchestras and Dmitry Shishkin won a silver medal at the 2019 Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition. This promises to be one of the best live concerts in November in Cape Town and the tickets range from R1350 to R350.

From traditional Ukrainian dances and live folk music performances to a special kid’s program and workshops on doll-making, there is plenty to look forward to. Make sure to try Ukrainian food delicacies like borsch and varenyky. Dogs on a leash are welcome to the festival.

6 Toni Braxton’s ‘As Long as I Live’ World Tour (November 12)

This award-winning American singer/songwriter has sold nearly 70 million records and won 7 Grammy awards in the last 25 years. Presented by Glen 21 Entertainment in association with McDonald’s and powered by Kaya Fm 95.9, Home of the Afropolitan, this concert promises to be one of the best music events in Cape Town this season. Visitors will have a chance to listen to hits like Breath Again and Un-Break My Heart.

7 Beer, Wine & Cheese Festival 2019 (November 16)

No list of things to do in Cape Town would be complete without mentioning the awesome Beer, Wine & Cheese Festival at the Kelvin Grove Club. There will be about 40 wineries at the festival, as well as many craft beer breweries showcasing their finest drinks. Locally produced cured meats, artisanal bread will also be available to sample and purchase. Besides delicious food and tasty drinks, there will be live music and lucky draws. Tickets cost R150 per person and include a tasting glass and a lucky draw ticket.

8. Zolani Mahola “The One Who Sings” (November 19 – 23) 

Zolani Mahola, loved and known internationally as the face and voice of Freshlyground, is taking centre stage in her first one woman show, “The One Who Sings” (from the Xhosa “Lo Uculayo”) from 19 – 23th of November 2019. Along with captivating storytelling, Zolani interweaves her original new music with some of her most well-known songs, taking the audience on an intimate journey through the eyes of a young girl growing up in a divided 1980’s South Africa, opening up for the first time about her struggles in a country which is itself grappling with its own wounds and sense of identity.

Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville is hosting the Liefde by die Dam event on November 16th. Named after the hit song by Valiant Swart, the festival features live music and performances by some of the best South African bands and artists such as Die Heuwels Fantasties, Francois van Coke, Early B, Arno Carstens, Majozi, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Snotkop, and Loki Rothman. The festival will also be collecting blankets that will be given to the less privileged.

11 V&A Waterfront Motor Show (November 16-17)

The second edition of the V&A Waterfront Motor Show is one of the must-visit events in Cape Town this November. Expect to see some of the world’s most exotic automobiles such as Aston Martin, Porsche, Lexus, and McLaren. The entrance to the event which is presented by Nedbank Private Wealth is free of charge and lasts from 9 to 4 pm.

13 Fizzytherapy Festival Bubbles & Bling (November 24)

Welcome to the 4th edition of the Fizzytherapy Festival Bubbles & Bling at the Villiera Wines in Stellenbosch. 15 Moёt & Chandon Golden Christmas Tree ( November 29) 

TheMoёt & Chandon Golden Christmas Tree event is taking place at Silo District on Friday, 29 November 2019. Come and be in awe of the unique Christmass tree made entirely from champagne bottles, and discover the shimmering gold ribbon wrapped around the tree is made out of 2000 discs. It is an impressive four-storeys high and built with over 1 800 recycled champagne bottles collected all over the country. Once the sun sets, you can look forward to a lighting display with over 230 metres of LED lights synced with festive music. Attendance is FREE.

16 Cape Town Festival of Beer 10th Anniversary Weekend (November 29 – December 1)
