Top Events to Attend This Weekend — 1 – 3 Nov 2019

The weekend is upon us here in South Africa’s Mother City and there are plenty of events to look forward to. Whether you wish to attend a haunted Halloween party, have fun at the International Tequila festival, or check out dance and fitness workshops, there are many excellent events in Cape Town to keep you entertained throughout the weekend.

1 Mama Magic Baby Expo (November 1-3)

Wish to learn more about parenting? Visit the Mama Magic Baby Expo and have all of your parenting questions answered. There will be over 260 exhibits of the latest parenting products at the event, as well as breastfeeding rooms and nappy change. The popular purple dinosaur Barney will entertain the little ones, while parents can participate in the Baby on Board competition and win a pregnancy starter pack. At the Huggies Experts Lounge, many questions regarding parenting will be answered. Tickets for this event range from R30 to R75.

2 International Tequila Festival 2019 (November 1-3)

There are many amazing events in Cape Town this weekend, but our favorite is definitely the International Tequila Festival that is taking place at the Hamiltons Rugby Stadium in Green Point. Visitors can look forward to delicious foods, tequila, mescal, and other agave spirits, masterclasses on tequila cocktail making, and much more. 12 excellent bands are scheduled to perform at the festival, as well as many local DJs. The line-up includes artists like Prime Circle, The Guy Is Alive, The Vanilla Colts, Upper Mill, Fusion Rhythm, Emma-Jean and Forest Key.  A 3-day pass will set you back R399 and includes tequila tasting vouchers and a free shooter glass.

3 Haunted Halloween Party Drifter Brewery (November 1-2)

Drifter Brewing Company is hosting the amazing Haunted Halloween Party this weekend in Cape Town. Dress up and enjoy a night of drinks and games like eyeball beer pong and a scavenger hunt. Special themed brews will be available, as well as trick-or-treat surprise shooters. Tickets for this event cost R20 per person and are sold at the door.

4 Dance & Fitness Festival (November 2)

Dance & Fitness Festival is one of the must-visit events in Cape Town this weekend. There will be many cool workshops including both dance and fitness classes like samba, Rueda de casion, cha cha cha, zumba, yoga, Thai fitness, and many others. The good news is that many workshops are suitable for beginners. The after-party will be held at Pulp Mouille Point.

5 Opulent Garden – Pop-up Garden Market (November 3)

The Opulent Garden invites you to their pop-up garden market event this Sunday in Cape Town. Expect to find many upmarket products including locally and internationally sourced clothing, leather bags, art, and jewelry. Many amazing traders are participating in the event including Asandé Jewellery, O.N.S. Skincare, Whimsical Collection, The Hive Fashion, Mesh & Bōne Skin, Clay Café, Matthew Bell Art, Stonehill Originals, Kali Moda, and others. The entrance to the event is free and includes a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival. This is also a family-friendly event and there will be a jumping castle to entertain the children.
