1 The 4th Annual Art Franschhoek (October 25-27)

Besides premium wine and tasty foods, Franschhoek is also well-known for is numerous art galleries. Visit the 4th Annual Art Franschhoek festival and see some of the finest exhibitions and artworks from the region in art galleries and at some of the wine farms. The highlight of this year’s event is definitely the Masterpieces from Franschhoek Private Collection’s exhibition which includes works by artists such as Maud Sumner, Alexis Preller, and many others. The entrance to the event is free of charge.

2 Gugulethu First Craft Beer Festival (October 26)

One of the most anticipated Cape Town events this weekend, Gugulethu First Craft Beer Festival invites guests to enjoy some of the finest local craft beers at the popular Mzoli’s Meat. Visitors will have an opportunity to try beers from various Western Cape breweries such as Old Potter’s Brewhouse, Stellenbosch Brewing Company, Little Wolf, Beerworks, Shields Indie Brewing Company, New Age Beer and Darling Brew. Artisanal soft drinks and craft ciders will also be available for tasting and purchase. In case you get hungry, make sure to try the famous shisa nyama from Mzoli’s. DJ Pono and DJ Mzu will be in charge of spinning the records. Tickets for the festival cost R100.

3 Cape Town International Kite Festival (October 26-27)

Head out to Muizenberg this weekend to attend the fabulous Cape Town International Kite Festival. Celebrating its 25th birthday, this family-friendly festival offers guests a chance to see some of the world’s most amazing kites and the Cape Mental Health charity. From kite-making workshops to numerous craft stalls and food trucks, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained during this 2-day festival. Expect to see professional kiters from all over the world including countries like Italy, UK, Bulgaria, Turkey, and the UK. A ticket for this festival will set you back R40 per person.

4 Wade Bales Cap Classique & Gin Affair (October 26-27)

The Wade Bales Cap Classique & Gin Affair presents unlimited tastings of craft and international gins with more than fifty Cap Classiques showcased on the day at the V&A Waterfront’s Grand Africa Café & Beach. Try craft gins from Distillery 021, Juniper Moon, and Monkey 47. You can also opt for a glass of bubbly from Silverthorn, Viliera, Krone, and Plaisir de Merle. One ticket includes a glass, unlimited tastings, and six oysters. Early bird tickets cost R190, while a full-price ticket is R380.

5 Beauty Squad SA Expo 2019 (October 26)

No list of Cape Town events would be complete without mentioning the Beauty Squad SA Expo 2019. This event is held at the Cape Town’s Radisson Blue Hotel & Residency and offers visitors a chance to enjoy a day of beauty with professional masterclasses hosted by the famous make-up artist, Raine Tauber. There are three tickets to choose from. Silver ticket only includes access to the event, while a gold ticket gets you a goody bag. In case you wish to attend the make-up masterclass, you’ll need to have a platinum ticket. Tickets range between R80 and R250.
