1 Cape Town International Animation Festival (March 8-10)
Presented by Animation South Africa, the Cape Town International Animation Festival is taking place at the River Club on Liesbeek Avenue this weekend. They are bringing the best of the animation industry right here to Cape Town. Whether you wish to see exhibitions, watch films at the outdoor cinema, or participate in workshops, there is something for everyone. One ticket for this event will set you back R280, while the full festival pass costs R600 and R300 for students.

2 Chris Lynam’s Beast Of The Theatre (March 8-9)
If you are in the mood for some comedy this weekend in the Mother City, pay a visit to the Alexander Bar on Strand St. and watch Chris Lynam’s Beast Of The Theatre performance. Chris Lynam is a solo clown/comedian with 40 years of experience and his supply of magnificent tricks and alternative comedy is just amazing. The show starts at 10 30 and tickets cost R110 per person.

3 Simon’s Town Walking Tour (March 9)
Learn about the history of Simon’s Town this Saturday with Joline Young, a social historian, and author. Her Simon’s Town Walking Tour includes stories about Khoi and San land and how it was shaped by things like colonization, slavery, war, and Apartheid. You will have a chance to visit the Amlay House which is a private family heritage museum and see the former Malay Quarter.

4 Matthew Mole at Kirstenbosch (March 10)
On Sunday afternoon, Matthew Mole is performing at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens as part of the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts series. This famous electro-folk singer and musician entered the top of the iTunes chart with his debut album “The Home We Built”. The album received many award nominations which enabled Matthew to tour internationally for over 3 years.

5 Cape Town Cycle Tour (March 10)
Cape Town Cycle Tour is definitely one of the most anticipated events this weekend in the Mother City, as well as the largest timed cycle race in the world. Around 35,000 cyclists from all over the world participate in this 109km long race every year. The Cape Town Cycle Tour starts in the city center and passes through places like Simon’s Town, Chapmans Peak, Suikerbossie, and Green Point.
