An elegant 3-bedroomed Cape-cod style beach bungalow hides behind a traditional white-picket fence, overlooking the cobalt blue Atlantic coastline. This double-story bungalow boasts a simple, tongue and groove façade and an interior with minimal ornamentation. Situated footsteps away from a pathway leading to the beach, it is located in a desirable area in Camps Bay close to restaurants.
Greeted by French Lavender lined steps leading up to the front door, the bungalow certainly reflects the sublime atmosphere of the surrounding area. Set foot inside and you’re welcomed into a fresh living area with lime-washed A-frame rafters creating a sense of light and space throughout. The use of white wooden shutters adds a true sense of beach-side cottage living.
The kitchen, lounge and dining area are all completely open-plan and lead through to a small viewing balcony with views of the coastline. A well-appointed, elegant French cottage kitchen provides the perfect cooking area. There is a gas oven, an island work area and plenty of cupboard space. Funky hanging lights add an interesting twist to the room. Aged lime-washed tables, large candles, calico couches and glass mirrors create clear symmetrical lines in the decor.
The first bedroom is upstairs on the left and has an en suite bathroom with a deluxe sunken bath, large shower and a heated towel rail. Expect Crisp white duvets, a minimalist feel and spacious luxury. The guest bathroom (opposite the bedroom) has an unusual flair – there is a seashell mirror which really seems to pull this small space together.
A champagne colour bannister frames the stairwell leading down to the two bedrooms and scullery which has a washing machine, dryer and sink. There is also plenty of storage space under the stairwell for bikes, surfboards and other items. Adjacent to the stairwell is a door that leads through to the garage which has room for two cars.
Facing a small, but well-manicured garden are two rooms, one with an en suite bathroom (bath only) and the other is served by a communal bathroom (shower only). Both of the bedrooms have shutters that open out into the garden and the only influence of colour into the otherwise crisp, white décor is from the scattered sarongs on the bed.
This bungalow is ideal for families who need easy access to the beach and enjoy a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.
