Southern Suburbs. Just south of the city lies the Southern suburbs of Cape Town. The suburbs here, located beneath a beautiful mountain range, are perfect areas for families. You will find many good schools to choose from, and even a few international schools.
Some of the best areas here include Constantia Upper >
and Bishopscourt. These areas offer beautiful leafy lands, with an upscale market close by. The best schools also reside in these areas.
Constantia offers some of the best shopping around, and marvellous restaurants and wine farmlands. You can also find great equestrian facilities, gyms (Virgin Active) and easy access to the freeway.
Mostly protected from the winds, the area remains sunny, with property prices ranging from 3.5 million to 20 million ZAR.
In Constantia, Claremont, Tokai, or Rondenbosch, properties will range from 2 million to R6 million ZAR. These areas also provide tree-lined streets, top schools and golf courses.
Newlands is a picturesque, upscale area with equally good schools, restaurants, and the most famous, Kirstenbosh Gardens.
Surrounded by towering mountains, the area loses sunshine about 3pm in the winter. Property pricing starts at around 2 million ZAR.
Atlantic Seaboard. The panoramic sea views of these suburban areas include the towns of Camps Bay, Clifton, Bantry Bay, Llandudno, and Fresnaye. Close to the center of Cape Town, these areas offer spectacular white beaches, and beautiful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean.
Homes in these areas are luxurious, upscale properties priced at 5 million ZAR and upwards. Purchase properties here for a fine, champagne-kisses lifestyle, complete with golden sunsets.
For daily spectacular views of Table Mountain and Table Bay try Blaauwberg, Table View, and Sunset Beach. These are flat, windy areas with beaches ripe for kite surfing and other wind sports.
As a newly developed area the properties are enhanced with contemporary architecture with Modern-Kitch or Pseudo-Tuscan styling. Property prices range from 1.2 million to 4 million ZAR.

hi melissa, i spoke to our friends at propvantage about this, and this is what they had to say. cape town property investment has become more and more popular over recent years. the more exclusive i areas like camps bay, clifton & fresnaye have seen good capital growth, and have held their values through various market conditions. this is due to the basic laws of supply & demand. recently we have seen a resurgence in inner city development. old building are being renovated, and converted into luxury lofts, these types of investments have also proven to be sound. areas on the outskirts of the city have also proven to be good investments, and are often better for buy to let investments, as these cheaper properties obtain better rental returns, and steady capital growth over the medium to long term. for more information about cape town property investment, visit http://www.propvantage.com
